La maison is designed to be a clearing house of information about the fightback against the New Brunswick provincial government’s plans to scrap both early French immersion and core French, and force all students in the province into a “one-size-fits-none” education model.
La maison is not affiliated with any organization or institution; it is offered “as is,” as a public service. For the most up-to-date information, visit the official website of Citizens for Educational Choice.
Comments are welcome but will remain posted at the sole discretion of the administrator. Be aware that the first time an individual contributes, their comment will be held for moderation.
La maison is administered by Miriam Jones, who may be contacted about issues related to this blog at jones@unbsj.ca.
The photographs in the header are representative of some the human costs if Minister Lamrock does indeed act on the Croll/Lee report: the first face is that of a first grade student, soon to be among the last cohort of EFI students if these recommendations are implemented; the next face is that of a grade four student with learning challenges who would be without adequate support under the new plan for all grade five students to do “intensive French”; the third face is that of a committed and successful EFI student; and the final image is of two siblings, one currently in EFI and the other in kindergarten, unable to follow his sister if the proposed changes go ahead.
